Why Sicily, and not the rest of Italy
We’ve had this question. The short answer is that we don’t want to be a generic-Italy operator; we want one route in one part of one island, ridden well.
Sicily has more than enough to fill it. The eastern half alone — Catania up to Taormina, Siracusa across to Ragusa and Enna, the climb up Etna, the north coast at Cefalù — gives you nine days of riding without ever feeling like you’re filling time.
The food, briefly
Worth flagging because it’s a big part of why we’re here. Sicilian food is more north-African than Italian in places, more Greek in others, and often unbelievably good for what you pay. We eat together every night.
