What riders
tell us, after.
Eight years of tours, hundreds of riders, the same small team behind it. These are their words, their photos, and the team they rode with. If you'd like to talk to a Pedalist directly before booking, we'll connect you.
In their words.
"Fantastic value, great routes, helpful support from the team day and night, great hotels organised, and all the evening restaurants that James (our guide) had arranged had a different highlight every time."
"We went on the East Coast of Taiwan tour with Pedal Taiwan this November and it was great. The communication prior to the trip was great. Once we arrived, James, the guide, was great at getting us set up and checking in at various points."
"Joining a 5-day cycling tour with Pedal Taiwan is one of the best travel decisions we've ever made. Communications with Rob were very seamless, rental bikes are high quality, and the tour leader (James) and ride support team (Andy and Greg) were excellent."
"Sixteen days of cycling around Taiwan was a pure bliss. The hardware (itinerary) is perfect — that is, if you like cycling 100km+ most of the days while ascending 2,000-ish metres in a stunning subtropical country."
"Initially I thought the itinerary was overly ambitious — but it was perfect. He catered well for cyclists of variable ability and looked after the welfare of everyone on tour. He encouraged me to complete the final 10k climb of the Taiwan KOM, the most gruelling 86k imaginable. I would not think twice about organising another tour with him. Thank you Rob for an unbelievable and life-changing experience."
"Pedal Taiwan planned a five-day cycling holiday along the East Coast, culminating at the Wuling Pass, for my group of two. All expectations were exceeded. Rob and Greg pulled off a great trip under difficult conditions. Taiwan itself is a cyclist's dream — excellent infrastructure, welcoming people, a thriving biking culture, and ideal topography."

"Cycling in Taiwan is great — good roads and fantastic views. Pedal Taiwan provided an excellent experience with a well-planned route, good hotels and superb vehicle support."
"Having just come back from the East Coast tour, I highly recommend Pedal Taiwan. The tour was extremely well run, and the guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to help with anything bike-related."
"So well organised. Stress-free utopia, highly recommend. Everything was taken care of, especially including annoying things like airport pick up and drop off. Our whole group of 20 had a great time."
"I have to tell everyone what a great group of people Pedal Taiwan are. We were riding for charity and Rob and his support team looked after us morning, day and night. The country is an amazing place to ride — smooth roads, respectful drivers, delicious food, and everyone is so friendly."
"The organisation and itinerary were both outstanding. Taiwan is a great country to visit on so many levels, but especially so for cyclists."
"Incredibly good trip. The Pedal Taiwan team were first rate and always went the extra mile to ensure we had fun on this challenging but rewarding trip. Would highly recommend."
"The brilliant crew at Pedal Taiwan made this tour seamless. They had our backs the whole trip and were happy to help with anything. Taiwan is a stunning country for cycling — gorgeous views and roads that are fantastic, smooth and not a pothole in sight."
The people who show up.
Artur
Yerevan-based cycling guide. Artur has been running tours through the Caucasus for over a decade, and is leading our Armenia route design. He knows every monastery worth a detour and every coffee stop worth pausing for.
Gary
Head mechanic. There's no mechanical issue on earth that Gary can't fix — rethreading split gear cables at the top of a climb, diagnosing altitude-induced hydraulic adjustments, holding a roadside bike fit to sort out a slightly dodgy knee. He's been there, done that, and got the grease-stained jersey to prove it.
Greg
Former Taiwan national team rider and mechanical expert. Greg brings unmatched local knowledge to every tour. When not on the road, you'll find him coaching local teams or commentating for Taiwan's cycling broadcasters.
James
Born and raised in Taiwan, James spent several years in the USA before returning to pursue his passion — cycling. He's been guiding both foreigners and Taiwanese around the island for over 10 years, and knows every route, repair station and rest stop like the back of his hand.
Rob
Originally from the UK, Rob first visited Taiwan in 2016 for the cycling and fell in love with the island. A decade and hundreds of tours later, he coordinates every Pedal Taiwan trip and answers every Pedalists enquiry email. His second love after cycling is food. Ask him for a restaurant recommendation and you won't be disappointed.
